Since the 2021/2022 financial year, APS has received WST50,000 each year from the Samoa Government (Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries) as a contribution towards the purchase of essential drugs and surgical supplies.  However the needs of the Clinic are far greater and it therefore functions on a cost-recovery basis.  Income generated through fees charged for services is used to cover the running costs of the organization.  Fees are set as low as possible while ensuring the financial sustainability of the organization and the services APS provides.

Despite keeping fees as low as possible, veterinary services are not cheap and, for many people in Samoa, the cost is a disincentive to accessing proper care for their domestic animals and a real barrier to more widespread de-sexing that would eventually help to reduce the number of unwanted domestic animals.  APS would like more Samoans to be able to access the services that enable them to keep their pets healthy and your donation can help to make this possible.
